The Croatian has been a key part of Barcelona’s midfield for half a decade. He also played a key role in leading Croatia to a second placed finish at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
According to Spanish media, Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitić, who has been with Catalan giants Barcelona since 2014, could be on his way to English side Tottenham. Tottenham coach Jose Mourinho has made it clear that Rakitić is among the players he would like to acquire in a bid to strengthen his midfield, while Barcelona is looking to acquire Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele of France.
At 32 years of age Rakitić has made it clear he would like to end his career in Barcelona. His contract with the team expires in the summer of 2021. However, the club’s management has been looking to deal him to another club for some time now. Along with Tottenham, the clubs showing interest are Spanish clubs Atletico Madrid and Seville, and Italian sides Juventus and Napoli.
