Croatia secured a 3-0 home win against Gibraltar in Varaždin on Sunday night, strengthening their position in Group L of the World Cup qualifiers.

Goals from Toni Fruk, Luka Sučić, and Martin Erlić earned crucial points, putting Croatia three points ahead of the Czech Republic in the group standings.

“Remembering all that I went through last year, in just a few seconds it all faded away. I’m so grateful to my family for being by my side. It was very emotional, and I am very proud. I dedicate this goal to them,” said Erlić, who has struggled with a leg injury this year.

With two matches remaining, Croatia needs just one more point to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

“I think that’s that! I think Croatia has qualified for the World Cup. We still have two matches to go, and we have to take them seriously and responsibly, and play well to wrap up this cycle,” said coach Zlatko Dalić.
