Milanović to meet with Pope Leo XIV next week

Croatian President Zoran Milanović will officially visit the Vatican next week, where he will be received in a private audience by Pope Leo XIV, the Office of the President confirmed to the HINA news agency on Tuesday. Milanović will be in the Vatican on October 31.

In addition to being received by Pope Leo XIV, Zoran Milanović will also meet with the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, and the Secretary for Relations with States in the Secretariat of the Holy See, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher.

Milanović was in the Vatican in 2021 during his first presidential term and met with Pope Francis. At that time, he invited the Pope to visit Croatia, but this did not materialize.

He attended Francis' farewell in April this year, as did Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
