Šušnjar attends the 9th ACAP Conference in Chicago

The Croatian Economy Minister is in Chicago where he participated in the 9th conference of the Association of Croatian-American Professionals. ACAP gathers entrepreneurs, scientists and experts from the United States, Croatia and other countries, with a focus on strengthening cooperation between Croatia and the Croatian diaspora, preserving Croatian national identity and developing the homeland.

Speaking to reporters after the conference Economy Minister Ante Šušnjar emphasized the importance of the role that ACAP plays in nurturing ties between the diaspora community and the homeland: "This conference is proof of how important the Croatian diaspora is, that it is an essential part of Croatian culture and identity. From the first days of the fight for Croatian independence, we witnessed the contribution made by the Croatian diaspora, Croatian athletes, business leaders and scientists, both in the United States and around the world. This continues with the same vigor today, through the transfer of knowledge and by bringing entrepreneurs together. That is why this conference is important, so that we can exchange experiences. So that we can show that Croatia cares about the diaspora, and also see that the feeling is mutual. Today we're fighting for the best possible Croatia, and with the application of everything discussed here, I think our future is a bright one."

This year’s ACAP Conference also highlighted nine years of Croatian excellence with the goal of connecting a global community rooted in heritage and driven by progress. Among the keynote speakers were Violet Grgich (President and CEO, Grgich Hills Estate), Joe Flamm (Culinary Director of Day Off Group, winner of Bravo’s Top Chef season 15), Tatiana “Tajči” Cameron (Music Artist | Entrepreneur | PCC, NBC-HWC Certified Coach), Zlatko Mateša, PhD (President of the Croatian Olympic Committee), and Bill Rancic (Entrepreneur, Bestselling Author, Motivational Speaker, Media Personality).
