Todorić and his legal team present their defense

The former Agrokor owner and his lawyers presented their defense at the county branch of the State Prosecutor's Office on Wednesday.

Upon emerging from the Zagreb County branch of the State Prosecutor’s Office Ivica Todorić’s lawyer Čedo Prodanović explained the core of their defense. "The gist of his defense is an attempt to explain, in context, the situation with regard to system of work in Agrokor, and obviously rejecting the indictment. And that can only happen when Agrokor's business as a whole is examined, not by isolating individual segments and then criminalizing individual actions," Prodanović said.

Todorić's other lawyer Jadranka Sloković commented on media speculation that they have significantly raised their bail offer. "Look, we don't have any more money. There is a possibility in terms of assets, real estate, but you yourselves have seen how cases in which bail is offered in assets turn out," Sloković told reporters.

The Zagreb County Court today made its decision regarding Todorić's appeal against his detention, however, it will not make the decision public until Thursday. Todorić, his two sons and 12 of Agrokor's senior managers are suspected of embezzling more than one billion Kuna from the food and retail giant.
