Croatian theater is coming to the Argentine audience – the City Theater Žar ptica and Teatar Poco Loco are touring Argentina, where they will perform a total of six shows in three cities. They will perform at one of the most prominent children's theater festivals in South America, and then meet the Croatian community in Buenos Aires, performing two shows for them.

Žar ptica and Teatar Poco Loco are participating in the Córdoba International Theater Festival for Children and Youth, which takes place from September 30 to October 4 across the Argentine province of Córdoba.

Žar ptica is performing with the play "The Place Where Lost Things Go" on October 1 and 2 at 7 PM.

The festival is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Province of Córdoba, with the aim of creating an important international platform for the meeting of theater artists from all over the world.

Over the past 13 years, it has established itself as one of the most significant children's theater festivals in South America.

This year's edition, alongside domestic Argentine theaters, gathers artists from Italy, Korea, Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, and the Dominican Republic, while Croatia is represented precisely by GK Žar ptica and Teatar Poco Loco.

The audience can expect more than 90 programs – from theater plays and workshops to outdoor performances and round tables. Special emphasis is placed on inclusive programs and making culture accessible to children and youth with developmental disabilities.

At one of the festival's conferences, the directors of the two Croatian theaters, Drago Utješanović and Renata Carola Gatica, will speak about trends in European children's theater.

The Croatian theater artists will perform a total of six times during their tour, specifically in Córdoba, Capilla del Monte, and Buenos Aires.

The City Theater Žar ptica presents itself to the Argentine audience with the award-winning play "The Place Where Lost Things Go", based on the text that won Žar ptica's competition for the best dramatic text for children and youth.

Through the poetics of contemporary children's theater, the play speaks about emotions, growing up, and the search for belonging.

Teatar Poco Loco will perform the play "Grandfather and the Biggest Turnip in the Universe" from the story collection "Fairytales for a Better Tomorrow".

This is an adaptation of well-known fairy tales and children's stories that brings topics of ecology, sustainability, and climate change closer to the youngest audience through humor, music, and audience interaction.

Following the festival part of the tour, the Croatian theater companies will travel to Buenos Aires on October 5 and 6, where they will be guests of the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia and Croatian communities.

They will perform two shows for the Croatian community in the Argentine capital, giving the tour a special connection with the numerous Croatians and their descendants living in Argentina.

The tour is realized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and the City of Zagreb.
