The Feast of St. Jerome, the patron saint of the parish and the city of Herceg-Novi, was celebrated with a Eucharistic celebration led by the Bishop of Kotor, Mladen Vukšić, the Diocese of Kotor announced. Right before the evening Eucharistic celebration, the traditional Kolo dance of St. Tryphon was performed by the sailors of the Boka Navy.
The celebration of the feast day began with a morning mass celebrated by the parish priest, Father Siniša Jozić. In his homily, he highlighted St. Jerome as an excellent role model in deeply meditating on the Word, returning to the sources, and persistently spending time with the Word of God.
Right before the afternoon solemn Eucharistic celebration, following a formal inspection performed by Admiral Mirko Vičević and a honorary salvo, the traditional Kolo dance of St. Tryphon was performed by the sailors of the Boka Navy.
In the presence of numerous parishioners and many young pilgrims from Herzegovina, mostly from the Parish of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary from Posušje, the solemn evening Eucharistic celebration was led by the Bishop of Kotor, Monsignor Mladen Vukšić, concelebrated by several priests.
