Split Airport expects up to 3.8 million passengers

Today alone, 28 thousand passengers and 109 aircraft will pass through Split Airport. When you add to that yesterday's Saturday, the weekend records data of 210 aircraft and 55 thousand passengers.

Mate Melvan from Split Airport said that in August there are a slightly higher number of departures, but this does not mean that arrivals are stagnant.

“We have increased by approximately 3-4 percent in these first two weeks, and in the first seven months we have recorded an increase of 7 percent compared to last year,” Melvan emphasized.

He added that traffic in the first months of the year also grew by double digits, although this is a smaller base.

“Still, it shows an increase and desired figures, that in the winter months and with less busy periods we are also growing,” he said.

New destination - Porto

“Portugal and Porto are a new destination, a new market. We are connected to 28 countries, directly to 90 destinations during the heart of the season, and through them to the entire world,” said Melvan.

So far, about two and a half million passengers have passed through Split Airport this year.

“We expect between 3.7 and 3.8 million passengers by the end of the year,” he added.
