Minister of Tourism and Sports Tonči Glavina has welcomed new investments in Croatian tourism, emphasizing sustainability and responsible pricing.

Speaking at the "Green Istria 2030" conference on Friday, Glavina highlighted the importance of green investments that preserve the environment and ensure quality of life for citizens and future generations.

He noted that Croatia is seeing record tourist numbers outside the peak season, with arrivals and overnight stays growing in pre-season and post-season months by more than five percent, signaling the country's rise as a year-round destination; which has been the government's main goal for the sector for the past several years.

However, Glavina warned that maintaining these results is challenging without price competitiveness. "Prices must reflect the quality of service," he said. "We must not be seen as a destination that doesn't offer good value."

He called on the tourism sector to strengthen the price-quality ratio across hospitality, accommodation, and the wider visitor experience, noting that improving competitiveness could further boost Croatia's tourism.
