A recent survey by the jobs website Moj Posao reveals that 78 percent of Croatian workers have experienced burnout syndrome, yet half of employees never take sick leave, days off, or annual leave to manage stress.
Conducted by Alma Career Croatia, the survey gathered responses from over 1,000 participants to assess workplace stress levels and coping strategies.
Key findings include:
• 61% of employees often feel stressed, while 31% say stress is constantly present. Only 8% rarely experience stress.
• Compared to 2022, workplace stress has increased—then, 55% reported often feeling stress, and 28% said it was constant.
• Younger workers are the most affected: 73% of those under 25 often feel stressed. This drops slightly to 61% for ages 26-30, and stays around 63% for ages 31-50. Workers over 58 report the least stress at 58%.
• Stress levels are similar between genders, with 63% of men and 62% of women often experiencing stress at work.
The survey highlights growing concerns about employee wellbeing and the need for better workplace support.
