The Bible in the Palm of Your Hand

The new mobile app "Biblija KS" brings the complete biblical text of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, using the translation that serves as the foundation for official Croatian Catholic liturgical books, religious education, and catechetical textbooks, announced the publisher “Kršćanska sadašnjost” on Thursday.

A special feature of the application is that favorite or particularly important verses can be highlighted and underlined in a color of your choice, and personal notes can be added alongside the biblical text.

The publisher points out that the Kršćanska sadašnjost (KS) Bible can thus become a personal space for reflection and study—a place where readers can preserve what is particularly important, write down their reflections while reading, or return to a specific verse whenever needed again.

The app also includes a liturgical calendar, making it a practical daily companion for anyone who wants to connect their reading rhythm with the liturgical year.

The "Biblija KS" app is designed to make reading simple, clear, and pleasant, even when reading the Bible on a smaller mobile phone screen, KS notes, adding that the interface is unobtrusive and clear so that attention remains focused on what matters most—the biblical text.

It reminds users that they can choose between a day or night display mode, depending on the time of day and personal habits. Simple navigation allows for quick movement through books, chapters, and verses without unnecessary steps, the publisher adds.

Everything has been designed so that the user spends as little time as possible dealing with the app itself, and as much time as possible reading and understanding the Word of God.

The app also offers additional content, including reading plans, Bible stories for children, as well as articles and other materials by prominent biblical scholars, allowing readers to return to specific topics outside of the biblical text itself.

It emphasizes that for readers who want to read the Bible more regularly, "Biblija KS" offers reading plans that guide the reader step-by-step through the biblical text.

The reading plan, it notes, is not an obligation, but a helpful tool to make Bible reading a habit more easily. Each completed step can be marked to track progress, and users can return to previous readings at any time. It also adds that the app offers an option to enable reminders for the reading plan.

The app can be downloaded for free for Android or Apple devices.
