Prior to assuming the reigns over the Croatian national football team, the now-legendary coach worked in the United Arab Emirates for three years at the helm of Al-Ain, leading them to the final of the Asian Champions League in 2016 and a national championship and Super Cup.
One month after stepping down as coach of the Croatian national football team, Zlatko Dalić appears to have a new job. According to media reports Dalić is on his way to the United Arab Emirates, where he will reportedly sign a four year contract that will guarantee him €5 million annually. The UAE has set its sights on qualifying for the next World Cup, having only ever qualified for the World Cup once, in Italy in 1990.
Dalić will also allegedly be accompanied by two Croatians, Danijel Subašić as a goalkeeper coach and Branko Ivanković as special advisor.
