The Gradec - Sveti Ivan Žabno railway line section was reopened to traffic at 9PM on Monday night. Traffic is gradually returning to normal, and on the section of the line where Saturday’s collision between a cargo train and passenger train occurred.

Traffic on the Gradec - Sveti Ivan Žabno railway line is gradually returning to normal, however, trains are currently running at a speed limited to 50 kilometers per hour. HŽ Passenger Transport has confirmed that the speed limit will not affect the timetable, but added that the speed limit could be lifted as early as Tuesday evening, allowing trains to return to their normal maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

On Monday the track was cleared of the passenger train and remaining debris from Saturday's collision with a cargo train near the town of Škrinjari. 25 people were injured in the crash, but luckily there were no fatalities.

The on-site investigation at the scene of the train accident completed, but an official report has not yet been made public. However, according to preliminary reports human error, specifically the failure of the cargo train driver to stop at a red light, caused the accident.
