Prime Minister Andrej Plenković began his official visit to Slovenia on Monday by meeting his Slovenian counterpart Robert Golob on a bridge over the Kupa River at the border crossing at Pribanjci.

Afterwards, on the Slovenian side of the border, the two leaders discussed and signed an agreement on the maintenance of bridges, overpasses and viaducts in the border area.

"The 23 facilities that need to be renovated, maintained, and expanded are intended precisely to ensure that the border does not divide but connects, so that the population can continue to live not only in coexistence but in harmony, so that beautiful, positive life stories will be written on both sides of the border, and for this I thank you from the bottom of my heart," said Golob.

Prime Minister Golob said he outlined the plans related to the decision to build the second unit of the Krško Nuclear Power Plant; noting that Slovenia was very interested in Croatia's participation in the project.

"Slovenia is one of Croatia's most important trading partners," said Plenković, adding that trade in 2024 reached 7.7 billion euros.

"We truly appreciate the arrival of a huge number of Slovenian tourists to the Croatian Adriatic coast. Many Slovenians are also property owners in Croatia, which makes our connection unbreakable. The data we have for this season is very encouraging and indicates that it will be the same in 2025 and in the future," said Plenković.

Other topics of discussion focused on bilateral relations and topics of wider European interest, such as illegal migration and the upcoming NATO summit in the Hague.
