Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Ivan Anušić participated in Đakovo at the farewell ceremony for 151 members of the 44th Croatian Contingent (HRVCON) who are being sent to KFOR, NATO's peace support operation. They will stay there for six months.
On the occasion, he also commented on whether Croatia should block Serbia's entry into the EU until the issue of missing persons is resolved.
“The issue of missing persons and the issue of Serbia's entry into the European Union are two related things. It cannot happen that one country does not have resolved bilateral issues with another, and that the other - in this case Croatia - gives the green light for entry into the EU. The issue of missing persons is crucial in relations between Croatia and Serbia, and we expect Serbia to fulfill its obligation,” said Minister of Defense Ivan Anušić.
