Vukovar continued to record positive tourism trends in 2025, with 55.7 thousand tourist arrivals and more than 91 thousand overnight stays, which are increases of more than five percent compared to the previous year, reported Deputy Mayor of Vukovar Filip Sušac at a press conference.

“Vukovar continues to record positive tourism trends that confirm the stable growth and strengthening of the city as a recognizable continental tourist destination. According to available data, in 2025, 55,719 arrivals were recorded, which is an increase of 5.14 percent, and 91,381 overnight stays, or an increase of 5.28 percent, said Deputy Mayor Filip Sušac.

According to him, the City of Vukovar is satisfied with the results achieved, but he also stated that they are continuing to work systematically to make Vukovar a sustainable tourist destination, that is, to make it not only visited in November, when the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Vukovar is marked, but also throughout the year. He added that it is a fact that children from primary schools all over Croatia come to Vukovar as part of lessons on the Homeland War, but that when these arrivals are excluded, the data on the tourist destination tells an even more positive story.

He also highlighted the positive trend of growth in overall accommodation capacities and noted that the City of Vukovar has received numerous awards over the past year, which confirm that everything it does makes sense.

The Director of the Vukovar Tourist Board Marina Sekulić explained that domestic guests make up 72 percent of total arrivals, and that foreign visitors most often come from Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovenia and Austria.

“Vukovar tourism has been recording steady growth in the last few years, which is evident through the increase in all indicators, i.e. the number of arrivals, overnight stays, cruise ship berths, new accommodation capacities and awards and recognitions won. In the past ten years, we have seen continuous growth, excluding the COVID period, when tourism globally recorded a decline. Of the total tourist overnight stays last year, half were school excursions,” said Sekulić.

She added that Vukovar had 20 new accommodation facilities last year, so that a total of 134 accommodation facilities with 1,298 basic beds were registered, with 50 percent of the capacity relating to private accommodation. Also, in 2025, more than 400 cruise ship berths were recorded with more than 61,000 passengers from all over the world.
