The Ministry of Defense, together with defense companies, high-tech start-ups, institutions, and academia, met in Zagreb today to strengthen cooperation and boost Croatia’s military-industrial complex.
Officials say the country is well positioned to take advantage of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, drones, and advanced electronics.
Minister of Defense Ivan Anušić outlined the long-term goals for the sector:
"Our aim is to build a strong, self-sufficient, and independent defense industry in Croatia that can compete with Western and Eastern technologies and be attractive in other NATO markets and beyond."
General Tihomir Kundid, chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, emphasized the role of domestic companies in enhancing national defense:
"Croatian companies have real potential to strengthen the combat power of our armed forces. They bring strong innovation and the ability to produce all the weapons systems we need."
