Croatia’s exports continued to grow this year, reaching €16.2 billion in the first eight months of 2025 — an increase of 4.6% compared with the same period last year, according to preliminary data from the State Statistics Bureau released on Thursday.
Imports also rose, though at a slower pace — up 2.9% to €29.3 billion. As a result, Croatia’s foreign trade deficit amounted to €13.1 billion, while exports covered 55.4% of imports.
Exports to EU member states totaled €10.7 billion, marking a 4.9% increase year-on-year. Exports to non-EU countries grew by 4.1%, reaching €5.5 billion.
On the import side, goods coming from EU member states rose by just 0.1%, to €22.6 billion, while imports from non-EU countries climbed by 13.7%, to nearly €6.8 billion.
Among Croatia’s main trading partners, exports to Slovenia jumped by 13.3%, reaching €1.73 billion, while exports to Germany rose by 11.3%.
Croatian imports from Slovenia also increased, up 4.6% to €3.1 billion.
