Croatia is among 170 countries represented this week at the world's leading travel trade show, the ITB Expo in Berlin, Germany.
Croatia invested 400 million euros in its tourism industry over the past year. At the 2023 fair, it was one of the most talked-about destinations and it seems to be generating even more buzz this year.
"Germany is a very important market for Croatia. Demand is very high, the booths are busy, and booking this year started earlier than ever before. We should be pleased with that,” said Tourism Minister Nikolina Brnjac.
The head of the Croatian National Tourism Board, Kristijan Stanišić, says Croatia is one of the most desirable destinations on the Mediterranean.
"That's been affirmed in our conversations with FTI and TUI and airlines like Eurowings. I think once the flight schedules are out, our destinations will be even better connected with our main markets,” said Stanišić.
ITB Berlin is taking place through March 7. The organizers underscore that despite rising demand for travel in the post-pandemic period, the industry also faces many challenges such as climate change, an energy crisis, worries about AI, and skills shortages.
