The Ministry of Demography and Immigration has announced a public invitation worth 25,000 euros for financing the costs of translating foreign higher education qualifications into Croatian for Croatian emigrants, their descendants and family members in 2026.
The invitation is open until 30 November this year, or until the available funds in the amount of 25,000 euros are used up.
The Ministry will approve funds for the costs of translating into Croatian the documentation proving foreign higher education qualifications, regardless of the type of recognition procedure or the profession to which the qualification relates. This includes the translation of diplomas and, if necessary, the complete curriculum of the foreign higher education institution.
Financing of translation costs can be requested by Croatian emigrants, their descendants and family members with Croatian citizenship, as well as stateless persons who have been granted temporary or permanent residence in Croatia for the purpose of immigration and return, provided that they have completed their higher education abroad.
Translation into Croatian is performed by a permanent court interpreter for the foreign language in which the foreign higher education qualification was issued. Translation can also be performed abroad, provided that the court interpreter connects the document in the original language and script with the translation into Croatian, since the court interpreter guarantees the accuracy of the translation.
Applications for financing translation costs are submitted to the Ministry exclusively in electronic form via e-mail. The appropriate e-application form should be downloaded from the Ministry's website. For additional information and any questions, interested parties can contact the following e-mail address: razvoj-povratak@mdu.hr
After making the Decision on financing the translation, the Ministry will publish the results of the public invitation on its official website.
