Croatia's Marin Čilić is through to the fourth round of play at Wimbledon after beating Spain's Yaume Munar, 6:3, 3:6, 6:2, 6:4, in third round action on Saturday. He will play Italy's Flavio Cobolli next on Monday for a place in the quarter-finals.
In the mixed doubles, Croatia's Mate Pavić and Hungary's Timea Babos are through to the second round after beating the Norwegian - French team of Ulrikke Eikeri and Fabien Reboul, 6:4, 7:6, today. Pavić and his Salvadoran partner Marcelo Arevalo will play the Czech team of Petr Nouza and Patrik Rikl in the third round of the men's doubles draw on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Nikola Mektić and his Canadian partner Gabriela Dabrowski, the fifth seeded team in the mixed doubles draw, made a surprise first round exit after losing to the American – Indonesian team of Robert Galloway and Aldila Sutjiadi, 4:6, 6:4, 6:3. The loss is even more surprising when one considers that Galloway and Sutjiadi were brought in as a last minute substitution for the much higher ranked team of France’s Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Germany’s Laura Siegemund, after Roger-Vasselin withdrew due to injury.
