Authorities have uncovered yet another mass grave in the immediate area of the notorious mass grave site at Ovčara near Vukovar.
"All three victims were shot and killed at this location. Bullet fragments and shell casings were found, which conclusively point to murder. This latest mass grave once again confirms the brutality of the Četnik aggressors," said Veterans Minister Tomo Medved who was at the location on Thursday.
There are 1,744 people still listed as missing from the Homeland War; 445 of whom are from Vukovar-Srijem County.
Meanwhile, Homeland Movement President Ivan Penava announced there were serious indications of a mass grave from the Second World War located near Vojnić in Karlovac County, containing up to 2,000 victims.
Penava said the government would aid in the investigation and in determining "the exact number of victims, the way in which they were killed, and who they were".
Once the validity of the mass grave is confirmed, Penava said it would once again "testify to the monstrosity of the former communist regime". A regime, he added, which liquidated and buried many tens of thousands of people and later killed or silenced those who tried to tell the truth about their crimes.
The party is in charge of a committee that investigates the crimes committed by communist Yugoslavia.
