Nikola Grmoja was elected as the new president of the Most Party at a party convention on Saturday. He will succeed Božo Petrov, who led the party since its founding 13 years ago. New party vice-presidents were also elected in the internal party elections, with Split City councilor Franko Kelam and entrepreneur Josip Katalinić filling those posts.

In his first address after being elected Most Party president Nikola Grmoja outlined his priorities as party leader: "We will oppose this crazy woke ideology, this LGBTQ project that wants to completely destroy human nature, that wants to re-educate our children, to convince us that it is possible to choose what gender you are. The fundamental premise of our policies is a Christian view of man and his dignity. Guided by the principles of freedom and human rights, we will always stand with the vulnerable and those in need."

In his speech, Grmoja emphasized the continuity of Most's fight against corruption, clientelism and nepotism, saying that the party will continue to be a pillar of defense against the deep state and the mafia that destroys citizens' trust in institutions.

He added that Croatia must remain a safe country and announced a firm stance on uncontrolled migration: "Croatia will be a home for all who respect our law, people and culture, but it will not be a hotspot for illegal migrants and global policies."

The new party leader concluded his address with a call for unity and the renewal of national values: "We must fight for Croatia once again. Both Most and I are ready to fight even more resolutely and passionately for timeless values and a dignified life in Croatia. Croatia is not just the country of our ancestors - it is the home of our children, and that home is worth fighting for."

For his part, outgoing president Božo Petrov, who founded Most in 2012 and led the party over three mandates, congratulated his successor and expressed confidence in the new party leadership: "New, quality people were elected today. I wish our new president all the luck and God's grace in the next four years of leading the party."

Petrov, who will remain the chair of Most’s bench in parliament, was asked to explain why he did not run for a new term: "If you have held such a prominent position for 13 years, then it is inevitable that it also entails a certain amount of authority, which is better to put to use in a way that you can give advice if the next president asks you to, rather than for anyone to think that I am harming Most with my actions. I am not leaving my position because I am no longer interested in politics or because I am giving up on Most. In fact, this is just an opportunity for the people who will enter the Presidency and the Main Board tomorrow, with Nikola at the helm, to really come to the fore."
