The eastern and central parts of Croatia turned red on the updated Covid incidence map produced by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) on Thursday.
The capital Zagreb, coastal counties, and the north of Croatia remained in the orange.
The newly red zones in Croatia are thus the counties with seats in Karlovac, Sisak, Bjelovar, Slavonski Brod, Požega, Virovitica, Osijek and Vukovar.
Red is used for areas reporting a 14-day incidence rate of 75-200 with a 4 percent or higher positivity rate, or for areas with lower positivity rate but with the 14-day incidence rate at 200-500.
The only green, i.e. safest category areas in the EU on the updated map are now Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland.
The ECDC releases updated Covid maps every Thursday, based on data reported by EU countries to the European Surveillance System database by 23:59 every Tuesday.
