19th Dubrovnik Forum opens under the title: "The Age of Multi-polarity: Many Directions, One Future"

The Dubrovnik Forum is an annual diplomatic and political gathering in Dubrovnik chaired by the Croatian Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It brings together foreign ministers, diplomats, and leading political and foreign policy experts. It consists of panel discussions (divided into European, transatlantic and international), presentations and bilateral meetings. Representatives of the NATO Alliance, the USA, various EU member states, as well as other organizations and countries regularly participate in the forum.

The 19th Dubrovnik Forum opened on Friday under the title: "The Age of Multi-Polarity: Many Directions, One Future." The forum has gathered more than twenty deputy prime ministers, foreign ministers and numerous international experts in the southern Croatian tourist resort. The focus of the two-day forum is on Europe's position and unity in the context of the ongoing dramatic changes to the global order that are resulting in instability and armed conflict. In this context the forum will address the strengthening of strategic, economic and energy connectivity. Here's what Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić Radman had to say ahead of the forum: “Dubrovnik, and Croatia more broadly, has become a vital meeting point for discussing the key challenges facing the international community and the evolving global order.”

For the Speaker of Croatian Parliament, Gordan Jandroković, the turbulent times the world finds itself in are of the utmost concern: “If there is no established global order, the most powerful countries will act as they please and impose their will on others. That is not a world any of us should want to live in. Large powers will naturally pursue their own interests, while smaller countries will face growing uncertainty and find it increasingly difficult to navigate. In such a world, we would all face far greater challenges.”

This year's forum also marks the twentieth anniversary of the launch of this important political platform.
