Entering the New School Year with a Blessing

On Sunday, September 20, following Mass in Bensheim and Darmstadt, children from the Croatian Catholic Community of Darmstadt received a blessing for the start of the new school year. Their schoolbags were also blessed—a symbolic gesture of prayer, support, and well-wishes for a successful start to their academic journey.

After Mass, the children and their families took part in a special blessing ceremony. The schoolbags—which will accompany them throughout the year on their path of daily learning and new challenges—served as a symbol of the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.

The Croatian Catholic Community of Darmstadt wished for God’s blessing to accompany the children throughout the school year, granting them the strength, wisdom, and perseverance needed for their studies.

The start of the school year brings new responsibilities for children, but also opportunities for encounters, friendships, and new experiences. With this in mind, the community wished the students great success, wonderful moments, and new friendships.
