Croatia Among the 20 Countries With the Highest Quality of Life in 2025, According to World Population Review

Croatia has ranked among the 20 countries with the highest quality of life in the world, according to the latest ranking published by World Population Review. With a score of 181.7, Croatia ranks 20th, just behind Slovenia, which is 19th with 182.4 points, poslovni.hr reports.

A number of developed countries rank below Croatia, including Belgium, Canada, France, Italy and Ireland.

Luxembourg tops the ranking, followed by the Netherlands, Denmark, Oman, Switzerland, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Austria and Germany. They are followed by Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, the United States, Estonia, Qatar, Japan, Spain, Slovenia and, in 20th place, Croatia.

For its methodology, World Population Review uses Numbeo’s Quality of Life Index, which seeks to capture everyday quality of life across eight areas: purchasing power, safety, healthcare, cost of living, the ratio of property prices to income, commuting time, pollution and climate conditions.

The latter factors helped boost Croatia’s position, with the country receiving strong scores for safety, highly favorable climate conditions and relatively low levels of pollution.

Croatia did drop two places in the 2026 ranking, but it still remains highly placed compared with other countries.
