A contract was signed in Crikvenica today for the construction of a section of motorway between Jadranovo and Selce.
The 12-kilometre route, one of the most technically demanding motorway projects on Croatia's northern Adriatic coast, will feature 11 bridges and viaducts, as well as eight tunnel tubes.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković said the demanding section would require numerous tunnels and viaducts due to the challenging terrain.
"This major infrastructure project will boost the economy of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, strengthen its links with Rijeka and other European cities, and significantly improve connectivity across the region," Butković said.
The project is valued at 252 million euros and is expected to be completed within three and a half years.
