Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said he expects fuel prices to decrease next week. The government will reassess its two-week fuel price cap regime on Monday, ahead of new measures set to take effect on Tuesday.
“We will make decisions based on current estimates, which point to a decrease in the prices of Eurosuper and diesel, as well as blue diesel and liquefied petroleum gas for both vehicles and households, which is encouraging,” Plenković said.
He added that if current conditions persist—particularly if tensions ease around the Strait of Hormuz and the truce holds—market stability could follow. As oil and fuel are globally traded commodities, he said markets would likely respond accordingly, potentially leading to further price decreases.
“This would benefit the economy overall, supporting continued growth, ensuring supply stability, and easing inflationary pressures,” he said.
