The Croatian Chamber of Economy (CCE) reported on Monday that it is one of the signatories of the European AI & Tech Declaration, an initiative of the DigitalEurope association, which confirms that the Croatian economy also wants to actively participate in shaping Europe's digital future.

The declaration, as stated in the press release, emphasizes several strategic priorities, from investing in artificial intelligence and key digital technologies, so that Europe can maintain global competitiveness and technological sovereignty, to simplifying regulatory framework, with the aim of accelerating the implementation of innovations and reducing business costs. The emphasis is also on the development of safe and reliable digital solutions, considering that cyber security is the basis of trust of citizens and companies. The importance of the partnership of industry and institutions was also highlighted, because only with a joint approach can Europe respond to global challenges and build a resilient economy.

“Artificial intelligence, cyber security and digital transformation are no longer topics of the future, but key prerequisites for competitiveness today,” emphasized CCE Vice President for Industry and Sustainable Development Tomislav Radoš.

By signing the Declaration, the Croatian Chamber of Economy confirmed its position in European industrial and digital initiatives and opened the door for Croatian companies to be part of the wider European ecosystem that will shape the rules, investments and technological development of the coming decades, the press release states.

The DigitalEurope association brings together European technology companies and organizations, and the signatories of the Declaration are their leaders. They have committed to launching new investments and working on innovations in the coming years, in order to strengthen Europe's position and ensure that it keeps pace with global technology leaders in the development of new technologies and artificial intelligence in the future.

The Declaration has so far been submitted to EC President Ursula von der Leyen by around 40 leading European technology and industry leaders. In her State of the Union address, she directly supported the Declaration, emphasizing that the joint engagement of the private and public sectors is crucial for digital transformation, the development of artificial intelligence and ensuring Europe's cyber resilience, the Croatian Chamber of Economy said in a statement.

The next step will be to present an expanded version of the Declaration with a larger number of signatories at the Masters of Digital conference in February 2026.
