The average monthly net salary paid per employee in legal entities in Croatia amounted to 1,444 euros in June, which is 9.8 percent higher nominally and 5.9 percent higher in real terms on an annual basis, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (CBS) published on Wednesday.
Compared to the salary for May this year, the average net salary for June was 0.5 percent lower nominally and 0.7 percent lower in real terms.
The highest average monthly net salary was paid in the air transport sector, in the amount of 2,279 euros, and the lowest in clothing production, 926 euros.
According to the CBS report, the median net salary for June was 1,233 euros, which means that half of all employees had less and half more than that amount. Compared to May this year, the June median wage was 0.2 percent lower, and 11.5 percent higher than June of the previous year.
The average monthly gross wage per employee in legal entities for June was 2,008 euros, which is 0.5 percent lower nominally and 0.7 percent lower in real terms compared to May 2025.
On an annual basis, the average gross wage was 10.4 percent higher nominally and 6.5 percent higher in real terms.
As with net wages, the highest average monthly gross wage for June 2025 was in air transport, 3,317 euros, and the lowest in clothing production, 1,212 euros.
For the period from January to June 2025, the average monthly net salary paid per employee in legal entities amounted to 1,432 euros, which is 10.4 percent higher nominally and 6.7 percent higher in real terms compared to the same period last year.
At the same time, the average monthly gross salary amounted to 1,988 euros, which is 11.2 percent higher nominally and 7.4 percent higher in real terms compared to the same period last year.
In June 2025, there were an average of 165 paid hours, which is 5.2 percent lower compared to May this year.
The largest number of paid hours was in auxiliary service activities in mining (175), and the smallest in services related to the management and maintenance of buildings and landscaping and maintenance activities (147).
The average monthly net hourly wage for June was 8.45 euros, which is 4.2 percent more than in May, and 5.1 percent more than in June last year, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics.
