The worst of the storm to hit parts of central Dalmatia was on the island of Čiovo, where hail the size of walnuts was accompanied by strong and gale forced gusts of wind. The majority of the damage that has been reported is to agricultural crops.

In addition to Čiovo, the storm also hit the surroundings of Šibenik. In a short but strong storm this morning, between 25 and 30 liters of rain fell in the Šibenik area.

The water levels of the Drava and Danube rivers in the east of the country are rising slightly, however, for now local authorities say that the situation is not alarming. Despite the installed barriers, the first floor of the Poljana city garage was covered by water. The consequences of the flooding are currently being repaired, after which the garage will be back in operation.

"We have a system, we have barriers that consist of 4 segments and our people who work there are trained to set them up, however something like this that happened this morning was unpredictable and violent that simply man could not be faster than nature," said Jakov Vuletin, the manager of the Poljana logistics center.

The swell of water coming down the Danube River has peaked near the town of Batina. Regular flood defense measures are still in place and the current water level is 629 centimeters. Although the water levels of the Drava and Danube are slightly rising, the situation is not alarming, and its stagnation is expected in the coming days according to the Osijek-Baranja Civil Protection Headquarters.
