Špancirfest begins in Varaždin

The country's largest and most well-known street festival - Špancirfest - got underway today in the northern city of Varaždin.

From fantastic concerts, talented street-performers, workshops and exhibitions, to rich exhibitions, great food and a superb place to socialize - over ten days the beautiful historical centre of Varaždin is transformed into a unique festival stage.

For Varaždin, it is not just a festival, it is a time when the city becomes livelier, louder, and more playful than ever.

Organizers say the hundreds of thousands of people who visit the festival each year don't come just for the performances and interactive art, but rather for an intangible and unforgettable feeling.
