"Autumn Gathering" at the Fischer Croatian Reading Room

The »Fischer« Croatian Reading Room from Surčin, which recently celebrated a decade of existence and work, organized the »Jesenje prelo« (Autumn Gathering) event on Sunday, September 20, dedicated to preserving tradition, culture, and customs.

The event, which took place in the courtyard of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Surčin, was an opportunity to showcase folk costumes, old crafts, and motifs associated with the spirit of former gatherings and assemblies. Through socializing, song, and tradition, visitors had the opportunity to meet and experience a part of the cultural heritage of Vojvodina Croats.

Numerous guests and participants performed in the program, including the HKPD »Stjepan Radić« from Novi Slankamen, a Croatian cultural association, KUD »Sladkovič« from Boljevci-Sovak, KUD »Radost« from Rakovica, and the »Šar planina« Association of Serbian-Macedonian Friendship from Rakovica.

KUD »Radost« from Rakovica and the »Šar planina« Association of Serbian-Macedonian Friendship presented the cultural heritage of Macedonians and Serbs, while the hosts, the »Fischer« Croatian Reading Room, introduced their own members—young girls Željka and Danica Katić, members of the literary section, as well as the »Fischer« tamburica orchestra.
