Former Croatian volleyball player new president of CEV!

Roko Sikirić is the new president of CEV, the European Volleyball Confederation. Sikirić is a former Croatian national team member with 89 appearances, and he became the new president of the confederation, which has 56 members, for a period of four years.

The news comes from Naples, from the CEV assembly, where after voting in the second round it was shown that Roko Sikirić, a 43-year-old from Bibinje, received 36 out of 53 votes, according to the press release.


Roko Sikirić is a former Croatian national team player with 89 appearances, an international player who played in seven countries on two continents, and completed studies in global and sports management in Boston and Connecticut.


“I am extremely honored and proud to be elected president of CEV, in Naples, where 53 members voted between four candidates. I would like to thank the Croatian Olympic Committee, the Croatian Volleyball Federation and the Government of the Republic of Croatia, which immensely supports Croatian sports, for their trust so far. This is a big responsibility, not only for the national associations, clubs and players that CEV represents, but also for me,” said Sikirić, as reported by Croatian Radio Zadar.
