Dinamo knocked out of Champions League by Viking

Dinamo failed to advance to the league stage of the Champions League after losing the second leg of their play-off tie against Viking 3–1 in Norway on Wednesday. 

The first leg at Maksimir ended in a 2–2 draw.

Dinamo took the lead in the first half, but the hosts equalized from the penalty spot before adding two more goals.

Dinamo will now continue its European campaign in the Europa League.

“Like in Zagreb, we started the game really well. We scored and played much better, but that penalty kick threw us off. We didn’t react well, and we only had one more chance, when Lisica conceded that free kick. We started to fall apart, and they took advantage. In the second half, every shot they took on goal went in,” said Dinamo captain Josip Mišić.
