Seville on its feet for Modrić: A standing ovation for Croatia's captain

Luka Modrić has once again experienced a moment that shows just how much the football world values him. When the Croatian captain stepped onto the pitch of the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium in the second half of the match against Spain, he was greeted with a loud standing ovation from the stands. This was his 204th appearance in the Croatian jersey.

Luka Modrić did not start the match of the second round of Nations League Group A3 from the first minute, but he was at the center of attention even before entering the game. Even before the start of the match, he went out onto the pitch to get a feel for the field, and soon people alongside the pitch started approaching him.

Photographers, security guards, and stadium employees all wanted a photo with the Croatian captain. Modrić didn't turn anyone away. He patiently took photos with everyone who approached him, and then, during the second half, came a moment to remember – a standing ovation from the Spanish crowd for the Croatian captain.
