Croatian fans flood the streets of Dallas ahead of England match

The Croatian national football team will play their first match of the World Cup against England in Dallas tonight. The players are as ready as the fans who will be cheering them on in Dallas and around the world. 

After completing preparations, in fewer than two hours in Dallas, the Croatian national football team will be opening their 7th World Cup campaign against Gordon Albion. 

“We will try to give our best, oppose them and not only defend but try to do something forward. That is what we want, what we can do and how we prepared,” said Coach Zlatko Dalić. 

Team captain Luka Modrić emphasized self-confidence within the team. 

“A difficult game awaits us against an excellent opponent, but we also believe in ourselves. As the coach said, we worked well, prepared well and I hope we will be able to present this on the terrain,” he said.  

Croatian fans have flocked to Dallas from all over the world. The red and white checkers can be seen everywhere. What do the fans think about the game: 

“I expect us to win. Anyone can score a goal just let them score.”

“2:nil, Modrić and Gvardiol!” 

 A Croatia win!”

“It will be difficult against the English as usual but we expect a minimum win, at least 1:nil!”

“An easy 1:nil for the first three points!”

“The first goal by the English and then 3:1 for us!”

“It'll be difficult but the win is in our hands!” 

Tonight's game starts at 10pm local time in Croatia.
