At Thursday’s cabinet session government accepted the proposal for a conclusion on accepting the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina on cooperation in the areas of the development of a secure digital infrastructure, public digital services and digital transformation.
The Memorandum of Understanding, which was initiated at a joint session of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2023, establishes a framework for mutual cooperation and professional and advisory support in the development of secure digital infrastructure and the development of public digital services, primarily related to the establishment of a system for providing trust services, encouraging the regulation of electronic communications with special emphasis on communication via the Internet and regulating the state domain and privacy protection, all in accordance with EU standards and practices.
The Government authorized Justice, Administration and Digital Transformation Minister, Damir Habijan, to sign the Memorandum of Understanding, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the implementation of which does not require additional financial obligations for the state budget of the Republic of Croatia.
Additionally it was stated that cooperation will be encouraged and developed through assistance in the development of legislation, strategies, action plans and programs in the field of digitalization, by organizing expert visits, seminars, conferences and meetings.
It will also be encouraged by establishing cooperation between scientific and research organizations, such as the inclusion of the academic and research network in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European Scientific and Research Network - GEANT, by establishing education programs, the exchange of staff and experts, general information and relevant technical and scientific documentation, and by developing joint projects with the possibility of applying for funds for cross-border cooperation projects financed by the EU.
