The Lithuanian Foreign Minister is on an official visit to Croatia, during which he was received by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys was received in Zagreb by his host Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić Radman. The focus of their talks was on economic relations and cooperation in defense industries. Minister Grlić Radman noted that total trade between the two countries stands at €194 million, of which €111 million euros are Croatian exports. Both agreed that there is room to further develop bilateral trade.

Also addressed was the situation in the Middle East, and how Croatia and Lithuania, as EU and NATO members, view the war. Both men made a point of noting that neither the EU nor NATO are directly involved in the conflict.

"The European Union is not part of this, but the European Union has a right to know, and we have to act together so that we can find a solution to this issue. We discussed this yesterday at our regular meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council," said Minister Grlić Radman.

These sentiments were echoed by Minister Budrys: "We are not a part of it. We have a couple of operations from the EU and that is it. That's our involvement. Even though if there will be the formal request from one of our allies, that is the United States - through the NATO procedures towards other allies to consider the options - of course we will have to proceed with the agreements and commitments. We will have to look into it. But we’re not there, so there is no question at the table whether NATO is part of it, or might be part of it."
