Before concluding an official two-day visit to France, the Croatian delegation, led by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, met with UNESCO Director-General Khaled El-Enany.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister praised the UN agency for its work in protecting shared heritage and promoting sustainable development worldwide.
“This was an opportunity to discuss cooperation between UNESCO and Croatia in the fields of science, culture, and various cultural projects that Croatia has presented in recent years, particularly the sites listed as part of the material and intangible heritage,” Plenković said.
He added that the country is grateful that, starting tomorrow, the Carnival on the island of Lastovo will also be included on UNESCO’s list of intangible cultural heritage.
Plenković expressed his appreciation for UNESCO’s ongoing efforts to safeguard world heritage and support communities around the globe.
