The Croatian national football team was greeted by adoring fans as they returned home after being eliminated from the World Cup. The future of head coach Zlatko Dalić remains uncertain after his contract with the Croatian Football Federation expired at the end of the tournament. Two people were wounded in a late-night shooting in the center of Čakovec.
