Hybrid motor ship launched for Norwegian client at Tehnomont in Pula

On Tuesday, the Pula shipyard Tehnomont successfully launched model 125, a single-hull hybrid motor ship intended for supplying fish farms, built for a Norwegian client and supervised by the Norwegian Maritime Directorate.

The launch was a working one, within the shipyard premises, with the presence of representatives of the client, the shipyard and key technical staff. As was reported on the occasion, that this is another in a series of successful side launches at Tehnomont, achieved in technical cooperation with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture of the University of Zagreb, whose expertise significantly contributed to the safety and precision of the entire operation.

According to the shipyard Tehnomont, model 125 was built according to the highest standards of modern shipbuilding, with an emphasis on environmental efficiency, reliability and operational longevity. The ship is powered by two highly efficient Danfoss EM-PM/540-T4000 electric motors, with a total power of 2 x 716 kW, which enables a maximum speed of 12 knots, and the combination of a steel hull and an aluminum wheelhouse ensures optimal strength with reduced superstructure mass, which is key to the stability and efficiency of the vessel. The ship is 26 meters long and 12.40 meters wide.

“This ship is another proof of the ability of Croatian shipbuilding to respond to the specific demands of the Northern European market. We are proud to have once again successfully launched a project that combines high technology, precise execution and sustainability,” stated the Management Board of Tehnomont.

After the launch, the ship enters the final phase of outfitting, technical testing and preparations for handover and the ship will then begin its operational role on fish farms in Norwegian coastal waters, in conditions that require high reliability, strength and sustainability.
