Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar has accused Croatian President Zoran Milanović of anti-Semitism in a post on the social network "X".

Reacting to Zoran Milanović's statements yesterday in which the Croatian president criticized the actions of the Israeli ambassador to Croatia, saying that in Croatia "we will not have other people's infections and germs, neither Israeli nor Iranian", Gideon Saar wrote on X that "the offensive rhetoric of the Croatian president is unacceptable, and his hate-filled language about Israel and Zionism reflects an anti-Semitic approach."

"Croatia is a member of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance and has committed to opposing anti-Semitism. The president has betrayed these commitments," Saar wrote on X.

After Israeli Ambassador to Zagreb Gary Koren told Croatia in an interview with HINA a few days ago to check the staff of the Iranian embassy in Zagreb because there could be members of the Revolutionary Guard there with the task of gathering intelligence and supporting terrorism, Milanović said on Thursday “that official from Tel Aviv or wherever he is, practically said that there is a terrorist den in the Iranian embassy in the middle of Zagreb.

“The ambassador was therefore summoned to the President’s Office for an interview, where he was told not to harm Croatia and not to disturb the public,” Milanović said, adding that "we do not want other people's infections and germs in Croatia, neither Israeli nor Iranian".

“This, my brother, is Zagreb, not Tel Aviv. Let the gentlemen please behave accordingly,” the Croatian president emphasized.
