A Croatian Canadair firefighting plane was sent to Montenegro to help today.
In accordance with the Decision of the Government of the Republic of Croatia on the crossing of the border of the Croatian Armed Forces to provide humanitarian aid abroad, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia and Minister of Defense Ivan Anušić issued an order to send firefighting aircraft of the Croatian Air Force to Montenegro to provide humanitarian aid in extinguishing fires.
One Canadair CL-415 firefighting aircraft with a crew from the 855th Firefighting Squadron of the 93rd Wing of the Croatian Air Force was sent today, August 13, 2025, to Montenegro to provide assistance in extinguishing fires.
The three-member Canadair crew, consisting of two pilots and one flight technician, took off to the fire scene in Montenegro, and their return to the Republic of Croatia is planned today after the end of the firefighting engagement.
“We are ready to carry out all the tasks that are set before us, especially if by implementing these tasks we help protect property and human lives,” said the commander of the forces that are being sent to Montenegro today.
We recall that a Canadair of the Croatian Air Force was also engaged yesterday, August 12, 2025, to extinguish a fire in Montenegro.
