Bulgarian President Rumen Radev is on a two-day official visit to Croatia, at the invitation of Croatian President Zoran Milanović, the Croatian President's Office announced.

The two presidents met at the President's Office on Pantovčak.


In Zagreb, Rumen Radev will also meet with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Speaker of Croatian Parliament Gordan Jandroković, lay a wreath at the Monument to the Homeland and meet with representatives of the Bulgarian national minority in Croatia, according to a statement from the President's Office.


During the second day of his official visit, the Bulgarian President will lay a wreath at the Bulgarian Military Cemetery in Vukovar, at the memorial to Bulgarian soldiers who died at the end of World War II, and will pay tribute to the victims of Vukovar by laying a wreath in front of the Memorial to the Victims of the Homeland War at the Memorial Cemetery.


President Zoran Milanović paid an official visit to Bulgaria in May 2023, where he met with President Radev in Sofia.


The two presidents described bilateral relations as friendly and without open issues, and discussed strengthening cooperation in the fields of defense, economy and culture.


Regarding the war in Ukraine, Milanović then emphasized that he and President Radev have "very similar positions", emphasizing the importance of finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
