Božinović: Our national borders are among the safest in Europe

KOMference, a conference of the Croatian Association for Public Relations is being held in Split. Among the topics is the one about the challenges of asylum and migration, in which Minister of the Interior Davor Božinović participated.

He pointed out that our national borders are among the safest in Europe.

“This year, the crossing of illegal migrants is significantly lower, which we attribute primarily to the fact that the Croatian police are better equipped year by year, are more experienced, more trained, are quite flexible, and we will continue to do so. Of course, our biggest challenge is the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and when we talk about the longest border that Croatia has with third countries, I can tell you that we have already achieved a high standard of protection, and at the beginning of our mandate, not a single technical means was deployed on that border, so we practically started from scratch, and today we are one of the most respectable border police in Europe,” said Davor Božinović.
