Ivica Kostelić's film Freedom premieres in Zagreb

Former Croatian alpine skier Ivica Kostelić has taken on a new role — film director — debuting his feature “Freedom” on Monday at a premiere in Zagreb.

The film focuses on his long-running passions: free skiing and high-mountain wilderness.

“The film is different from standard formats in order to emphasize its timeless note — freedom,” Kostelić said. “It is set to classical music and primarily oriented toward visual experience and beauty, to present the feeling of freedom in the light it deserves.”

Kostelić said the film will also screen in other European cities following the Zagreb premiere.
