Rijeka are the new Croatian football champions, clinching the title tonight with a 2-0 win over Slaven Belupo - capping off one of the most dramatic season finales in league history.

Three teams - Rijeka, Dinamo, and Hajduk - were in the title race until the final whistle. Stadiums in Rijeka, Zagreb, and Šibenik were packed, as fans across the country caught football fever. Rijeka had the best title chances, while Dinamo and Hajduk needed both a win-and a bit of luck.

Niko Janković opened the scoring early for Rijeka in the 12th minute, and Toni Fruk sealed the win in the 50th minute with his 11th goal of the season.

While Rijeka secured the title, things were tougher for Dinamo. They beat Varaždin 1-0 at Maksimir but needed Rijeka to lose or draw to claim the championship. Hajduk also won 1-0 against Šibenik but they needed both Rijeka and Dinamo to slip up.

Rijka finishes at the top of the table, winning their second title in the club’s history. Dinamo and Hajduk finish the season in second and third place, respectively.
