Rijeka has announced the firing of head coach Radomir Đalović.

The former Rijeka striker, who had served as assistant coach before taking the top job last season, ends his tenure after 52 games in just over a year.

During his time in charge, Rijeka won the Croatian league title for the second time in the club’s history, claimed the SuperSport Croatian Cup, and secured a spot in the UEFA Conference League group stage.

Đalović’s record with the club includes 23 wins, 15 draws, and 14 losses.

“HNK Rijeka thanks Radomir Đalović and his staff for their contributions and results, and we wish them the best of luck and success in their future coaching careers,” the club said in a statement.

Đalović shared a farewell message on Instagram:

“I am leaving as a man who has achieved his dreams, but also with the conviction that Rijeka will continue to grow, because it has you—the best support in the world,” he wrote.

After winning the league and cup double, Rijeka has struggled this season, winning only one match and currently sitting seventh in the standings. His departure follows last week’s heavy 5–0 defeat to PAOK in Greece, which ended Rijeka’s hopes of qualifying for the Europa League.

Among the most frequently mentioned potential successors is Spaniard Victor Sanchez. Last season, Sanchez’s Olimpija team defeated Rijeka decisively, and he also led Olimpija to the Slovenian championship. He recently parted ways with the club after failing to agree on a new contract.
